Supply Your Home Away from Home
If you plan to spend a lot of time in your RV, then you probably want to deck it out as much as possible so that you have all the conveniences of home while you’re on the road. The two places where that convenience will mean the most are the kitchen and the bathroom. If done correctly, your RV kitchen and bathroom can be just as effective as the ones in your own home. There are a few things that you will need to remember, however, including the fact that your RV will have very limited space.
RV kitchens can have every appliance that you use in your home. As long as you are hooked to a power source, any appliance you choose will be functional. Just remember that your cabinet space is limited before you start packing your blender, toaster, and food processor. Instead of packing all of them for any possibility, plan the meals that you wish to serve while on the road and then plan accordingly.
As your cabinet space is limited, so is your water supply. RV kitchen and bathroom faucets are crafted to reserve as much water as possible while still giving you the water pressure that you desire. You should still plan to conserve your water wherever you can. By scheduling your showers or baths sparingly, you can prevent the loss of water from your tank. Many camping grounds provide showers and sinks, so plan to use those whenever you can. By packing as many disposable items as possible, you can cut down on the water usage. Just remember to deposit recyclables into the correct bin when you are through with them.
The RV kitchen faucets are often much smaller than the faucets that you will have in your home. This is definitely a space-saving feature, as well as a hamper to water consumption. Your RV was most likely already equipped with a kitchen faucet when you purchased it. If you decide to upgrade your faucets and other fixtures, you will need to seek out an RV supplies store. As with any bathroom and kitchen supply store, you will find that there are budget and luxury options. When you are making your decisions for new fixtures, keep in mind the water consumption you will require, as well as the space that is available in your RV. Overly large faucets can be pretty, but make things rather difficult.
