Boost Comfort in your RV
If you are like most motorhome owners, then you probably consider your recreational vehicle an extension of your own home. There are many motorhomes and campers that are simply for spending a night or two in a campground, but far more people use them for cross-country road trips. If that is the case with you, then you are probably always looking for ways to make your RV more comfortable.
Of course, the heart of many a home is the kitchen. This holds true in an RV, as well. Your kitchen is where you prepare your meals and relax after a long day. If you have guests, then you will almost always end up in the kitchen. It makes sense that you would want to present the most comfortable and beautiful room possible, and you can do that in a motorhome. Your countertops may be worn or old fashioned, and your cabinet doors might be a little scuffed from several trips. These are easily replaceable, with just a quick visit to an RV supply store.
You can also update the sink with a new kitchen faucet. There are dozens of designs from which you can choose, but keep in mind that a faucet in an RV will be smaller than a regular kitchen faucet. You cannot install a kitchen faucet that has not been created especially for an RV. In addition to the smaller size, the faucets are made to conserve as much water as possible while still giving ample water pressure. This is also the case with a bathroom faucet. It’s very important that you purchase a faucet that will fit your motorhome, so as to prevent any leakage or water waste.
Many people also prefer to remove carpeting in the kitchen area of their RV. RV parts and accessories stores will have several different flooring choices for you. Laminate floors are a great idea, because they are easy to clean in small areas. Of course, linoleum is always a practical choice, too, and linoleum choices have really improved over the years. Just remember that vinyl floors are better than any tile or wood choices because the movement of an RV can cause serious damage to hardwood or ceramic flooring.
Once you have made those changes, there are smaller and less expensive additions that you can make. Slipcovers for tired cushions can go a long way in brightening the kitchen area, and a tablecloth can cover worn out dinettes. These can cost next to nothing, but provide stellar results.
